Polynucleotides
Skin Technology

Polynucleotides are used for their ability to stimulate production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness.

As we age, the production of collagen and elastin decreases, leading to the development of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. Polynucleotides can help to reverse these signs of aging by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

Polynucleotide-based products are injected into the skin using a fine needle, targeting areas with wrinkles or signs of ageing. The injections are usually fairly comfortable and can be done in a doctor’s office or clinic. The results of polynucleotide treatment can be seen within a few weeks of treatment and can last for up to 12 months.

The theory behind their use is that polynucleotides can interact with specific receptors on skin cells, promoting cellular regeneration and the production of new collagen and elastin fibres. This can result in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

Here are some of the benefits of using polynucleotides in anti-aging treatments:

  • They can stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which helps to improve skin elasticity and firmness.

  • They can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin.

  • They can improve skin hydration and texture.

  • They can reduce inflammation and redness.

  • They can help to protect the skin from damage caused by the sun.

Are there any side-effects with polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are generally well-tolerated. There main potential side effects relate to the site of the injection i.e. redness, swelling, bruising. More serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, are rare. Dr Assal's pre-treatment consultation will fully assess and explain any risks for the individual patient.

Treatment prices are £300 per session
